The majority of our products are designed and manufactured in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. Some products have imported components such as handles or rivets, which will be called out on an item's description page.
For more than 75 years, we've carved out our niche in the bakeware world by making our products out of aluminum, which has unparalleled heating characteristics and will never rust. This helps you to achieve wonderfully browned, evenly baked foods every time you bake. Most other bakeware available in the market is made of steel, which is a poor heat conductor and can rust.
These terms refer to how the pan was created! Both are tried and true manufacturing methods that we've been using for decades. Formed metal begins as a sheet of pure aluminum and is either spun or stamped into its final shape. An example of this method would be a baking sheet. Formed aluminum products possess the same great heating characteristics as cast pieces, and have less intricate detail or shaping to them because of limitations of how much metal can be bent or shaped.
Cast aluminum products begin their life in an entirely different way. Liquid molten aluminum is poured into a mold called a die, where it solidifies into a pan as the metal cools. Cast aluminum is a wonderful heat conductor for even browning and helps eliminate hot spots. Cast pans generally weigh more than formed pans and can have more intricate, detailed shapes, such as a highly stylized Bundt pan.

Our products are built to last for generations, provided you take care of them and use them as directed. We label our metal and nonstick-coated products as “hand wash” because of the harsh environment that exists inside of an automatic dishwasher, and because dishwashing detergents vary so widely. While many of our products might technically survive a trip or two through the dishwasher, the attributes which make them so loveable will likely be diminished. Nonstick finishes will lose their release properties over time, and colors can fade. Natural uncoated aluminum will turn chalky and become permanently stained after just one trip through the dishwasher, so it is not recommended in any circumstances. Our decades of performance testing and quality analysis point in the direction of good old-fashioned hand washing in warm soapy water to achieve the best results and longest-lasting products.
